<img src="http://i44.servimg.com/u/f44/11/74/66/71/vocati10.jpg" alt="Vocational course towards success" title="Vocational course towards success" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>Today, because of the increasing needs and wants of people everyone wanted to have a better future ahead especially those high school graduating students. However, there are some who cannot pursue college because college tuition fees are more expensive compared to high school. And because of this, some are found working in fast food chain or getting married at the early age which sink them to more difficulties. In cases like these, there is always a better solution. Students who cannot afford the high demand tuition fee of college can enroll a vocational course. Vocational education is a type of education that train and teach students on some techniques and aptitudes depending on the course field they chose.

On the other hand, trainings and other short term of studies are also considered as vocational courses and these kinds of courses are mostly offered by the educational institutions. But there are also some profit institutions that offer vocational education and they are considered as commercially oriented types of vocational training. In fact, there are also various private and government that owned educational institutions that offer vocational education. Most of these vocational courses are offered to those who were undergraduate as well as graduate courses. There are also institutions that of which their vocational courses are being taught using the power of internet.

There are some who have said that through taking their vocational courses, they became successful of today’s present time that they have. It became their stepping stone towards success; since there are various companies today that are looking for experts on working with them who has a vast background related to the vocational courses. Other testimonies is that, some students who were taking a four year course did not achieve the work that they long to be compared to taking vocational courses which most of the students taking it after graduation can mostly have work. So if you were a high school graduating students, do not be afraid of pursuing your studies since there is always a better place for you.

<img src="http://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/74/66/71/sara_k10.jpg" alt="A Film Critic and Vocational School Graduate" title="A Film Critic and Vocational School Graduate" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>THANK God I graduated from a vocational school. I would have never started being a film critic younger if I graduated from a four-year academic degree. To all the high school graduates out there, don’t worry that you cannot achieve a college degree. Even great people like Michael Dell and Steven Soderbergh who dropped out of college became successful. Right now, I’m still 19 but I’m proud that I can do movie critiques already even though I just graduated a total of four academic semesters from a vocational school.

The first movie that I’ll be critiquing is Witless Protection. I believe (don’t use think because that word denotes doubt) that this movie has significance because it is the very first movie that a US Marshal guarding a principal in the Justice Department’s witness protection program is portrayed as a comedian rather than a serious action figure like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Tommy Lee Jones. Witless Protection is starred by Larry the Cable Guy.

The second movie that I’ll be critiquing is 27 Dresses. This is the perfect movie for all wedding planners out there. Here in our locality in Laredo, Texas, there are lots of wedding planners who are so shapely and so sexy but they are already in their mid-30s. And they never get married. I wonder what fate had shaped for them; all they do is plan the weddings of their contemporaries without thinking of their own. That’s the demographic of society that 27 Dresses wants to send a message – the females who are still single. And I think they’ve nailed one on this. Oh I almost forget to mention that 27 Dresses is directed by 41-year old choreographer Anne Fletcher so she can perfectly relate the plot of the movie.

The next movie that I’ll be critiquing is The Eye. The Eye is one movie that you must watch because this is the very first horror movie done by Jessica Alba. We first saw Jessica as an innocent 14-year old diving with dolphins in Flipper, then she moved on becoming a sexy action star in Dark Angel, then graced the cover of Maxim, then went back diving but this time with a sexier body and with hunk Paul Walker in tow in Out of the Blue. Then she did a graphic movie in Sin City and next, she became one of the superheroes in Fantastic Four and its sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer. Now, she’s into horror of a Japanese remake. I’d say she’s a great kid.

<img src="http://i34.servimg.com/u/f34/11/74/66/71/vocati11.jpg" alt="The Beauty of Enrolling in a Vocational Program" title="The Beauty of Enrolling in a Vocational Program" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>THERE are lots of developments happening in the vocational world in the United States today. Therefore, don’t be left behind. Strive instead to be on top of the competition. Right now, it is almost spring break and as you are about to graduate, now is high time for you to think on which vocational program will propel you to success in your own community.

By the way, success is not just limited to your own community. Consider this – if you are intending to take up a vocational three-year course in French studies because there is a huge factory of Alcatel-Lucent to be put up in Atlanta perhaps, then vocational schools in the city will surely accommodate a program in French studies. That may take only three semesters long as each stage in the program is equal to one semester. In the basic stage, students are made to write an essay entirely in French and will recite it in front. The length of the essay increases as the days in the French tutorial sessions also progress. Similar methods are undergoing in the intermediate and advanced stages of the course. Because most vocational schools build their own network with prospective employers in the county, you can easily get a job at Alcatel-Lucent. This is one way for vocational schools to attract enrollees – sure shot at employment upon graduation. Once you’re at Alcatel-Lucent, you will surely not have a stagnant job if you really know French and if you’re really good and polite. Maybe you will be promoted and you’ll be assigned at Alcatel-Lucent headquarters itself in Paris. Wow, Paris! It’s the most romantic place in the world.

If you are living in Oahu, perhaps the most prominent vocational school offering in that county is an associate degree in hotel and restaurant management. Hospitality degrees here may not be as reputable as they are in such renowned Swiss hotel schools but it’s not in a school that success is formed. It’s in the character of the person who is studying. Whether you are enrolled in a community college in Honolulu or at a very-well known hospitality college in Bern, you will surely succeed if that is really your aim. So here we are. If for example, you have graduated in barely three years an associate in hotel and restaurant management in Honolulu, then you will surely be employed as a restaurant supervisor for starters in any resort here. You will be inventorying everything that goes in the restaurant such as food supplies like raw fish, etc as well as wine imported from Italy. Isn’t that a lovely job? But wait, there is something more. During your free time such as rest days, try to apply online to more lucrative posts in five-star cruise ships which go to the Mediterranean or the Caribbean or Tahiti. That is really okay. So as early as this spring break, try to discern now which career you would like to map as your own.

<img src="http://i34.servimg.com/u/f34/11/74/66/71/vocati10.jpg" alt="Be a Great Movie Reviewer by Enrolling in a Vocational School" title="Be a Great Movie Reviewer by Enrolling in a Vocational School" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>VOCATIONAL schools or community colleges are created and subsidized by the local government in the area to produce qualified graduates who will work for the industries situated in the locality. Obviously, vocational schools in California offer varied three-year courses leading to associate degrees in such areas as cinematography, production design, costume design, makeup, visual effects and musical scoring. But what I’m focusing right now as my topic is how to become a movie reviewer.

There are two kinds of film reviewers, the academe-based whose works are dissected by professional film students and popular film reviewers such as Roger Ebert, Richard Roeper and Peter Travers. Academe-based film reviewers do make a lot of sense as far as technicalities concerning making movies are concerned but the people who make the bulk of moviegoers cannot relate with them. They make a separate world among themselves. That’s where popular film reviewers come in to interpret these works. And if you want to be as popular as Roger Ebert, there are courses such as that offered by vocational schools in California.

To review a movie of course means you must at least have a background of the production behind a certain movie. It’s not just spoon feeding. Movies up for best picture come February 15 are the following: Juno, Atonement, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood and Michael Clayton. But are you sure they are the crème de la crème for this year? I have other choices actually. If I were to choose which movies I’ll give the honors to, it’s none of the above. My choices would be The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Kite Runner and 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days – in that order. If you would like to be a great movie reviewer, you must not be influenced by such personalities as James Berardinelli. You must defend what you are blabbering because I can certainly defend for sure why my choices are those that I have mentioned.

For example, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is the true story of Elle editor Jean Dominique Bauby who suffered from Locked-In Syndrome which means only his eyes were not paralyzed. He successfully wrote a book called The Diving Bell and the Butterfly of course by dictating to his assistant through blinking his eyes. Did Mathieu Almaric receive an Oscar nomination for portraying Jean Dominique Bauby? Nope! But to my heart, he is my best actor.

The next movie that I perceive as the best for this year is The Kite Runner. It tells the story of two Afghan boys who were punished by the then ruling Taliban regime just for playing kites. And 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days is the story of one pregnant teen from Romania who keeps on struggling with her own demons not to give in to abortion. Now that what makes for a great movie reviewer. If I can do this stuff, then so can you. Have a good one enrolling in a California vocational school.

<img src="http://i30.servimg.com/u/f30/11/74/66/71/vocati10.jpg" alt="Starting Off With Vocational Schools in 2008" title="Starting Off With Vocational Schools in 2008" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>IF you are graduating from high school this year, there is no other better way to start 2008 off then going to a vocational school. There are lots of programs offered in the various vocational schools and community colleges nationwide and the advantage of this is that these vocational schools maintain a network with potential employers. In other words, potential employers such as Fortune 500 companies nationwide do tap these vocational schools so they can enlarge their workforce to meet necessary requirements. Because of their reputation, some vocational schools have admittedly high tuition although you can surely recoup from the tuition fees that you have been paying because the longest program offering in a vocational school lasts for three years only.

There are indeed various programs offered in a vocational school depending on what you want. There are slots for cooking, dressmaking and even reflexology and other forms of relaxation therapy. In the world of the health sector, there are dozens of vocational offerings and they vary. There are programs dedicated for medical transcription, lobotomy, geriatric care, pediatric care, and midwifery, medical laboratory technicians, nursing assistants, forensic assistants, acupuncture, athletic trainers, respiratory care, nutritionists, dietetics, phlebotomy, perfusionists and numerous others. This is indeed such an exciting field as the health sector in the United States today is well-fed. Thus, if you come from a vocational school in Spain or the Philippines taking up such courses as a three-year associate degree in physical therapy, then all you need to do is take up qualifying exams so you can get a job here in the United States. There are only two exams to take – the English aptitude test and the medical aptitude exam to meet United States standards. After you have landed in the United States, part of your additional free training will be to take a multicultural appreciation course with local impact so you will be familiar with the local environment there and it will be easy for you to be integrated to the community. Remember, you will not just be dealing with people whose native tongue is English but you will also be dealing with Hispanic clients and patients.

But it is not only in the United States though that the health industry is in dire need of workers. There’s Japan and France too. Japan and France are two countries in the world where most of the population are the elderly. Thus, they are really in need of health professionals even from abroad. Aside from the pay and the perks which include a two-week paid vacation to a destination of your choice, health professionals in these countries enjoy clinical tasks such as examining and experimenting with specimens, interviewing patients and digging into their medical records, preparing patients for medical examination as well as for perioperative surgery and numerous others. Because they deal with patients’ bodies, most of these health professionals are also trained on how to treat a patient with dignity. Now isn’t that lovely?

<img src="http://i24.servimg.com/u/f24/11/74/66/71/vocati10.jpg" alt="Vocational Schools Are Good for Career Enhancement" title="Vocational Schools Are Good for Career Enhancement" / style="float:left;margin:3px"/>VOCATIONAL schools are for people who are not yet prepared psychologically to take on eight to ten academic semesters to achieve a bachelor’s degree in tertiary education. Oftentimes, these people are still at a dilemma on what course to chart their future with. So they take on any of the offerings the nearest vocational school or community college is providing. If you are living here in Costa del Sol for example, you may be enticed to be a chef. To be a chef, you need an associate degree for that and that takes approximately four academic semesters or a total of two calendar years in studying. That’s not bad right considering that vocational schools or what are commonly called as community colleges do have partnerships with the private sector in the area that they are located. You can easily find a job.

And in such places as Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca where beach resorts are lumped into one entertainment arena where skilled workers in the hospitality sector are needed, there are lots of potential jobs even during non-peak seasons as winter. A beach resort needs a lifeguard and a restaurant cook. Most beach resorts also double as dive resorts and so vocational schools throughout the Andalucian region and the whole Mediterranean areas of Spain have offered short courses on how to become expert diving instructors. Another feature of beach resorts here are nurseries. To become a professional nanny, you may study at vocational schools. Being a nanny already means having a stable job since foreign tourists usually tip much. Beach resorts here likewise double as golf courses and so vocational schools here have taken into consideration to offer course offerings to those who want to become caddies. Another feature of a typical high-end beach resort here in Spain is the inclusion of a casino with offerings such as baccarat, roulette and poker. Casino attendants are again graduates of vocational schools in the area. In short, the sole intent of a vocational school is to produce graduates and create jobs.

So if the community that you are in is an agriculture-inducing community, then vocational school offerings here usually consist of courses such as agronomy, forestry, animal science, food technology, agriculture technology, nutrition, chemistry, biology and agricultural engineering. There are various vocational courses and they are as diverse as manicure and pedicure, welding and reflexology.

In new updates about the world of vocational schools in the United States, Massachussets has hosted a football tournament among vocational school students. Some of the participating schools include Southeastern, Shawsheen, South Shore and Franklin County Vocational Tech. The game was held at the state’s capital in Boston. Meanwhile, in Delaware there is a surge of vocational schools as compared to last year. Vocational schools in the state nowadays as well as those in the entire nation do not just offer traditional course offerings as the ones mentioned earlier but already include medical transcription and call center customer service handling trainings.

Many students believe there is no money in vocational schools. This wrong notion also made them unmindful of the good opportunities that vocational education could also offer. We cannot deny the fact that many students don’t like the idea of enrolling in this kind of school. For them, vocational schools are cheap schools. But mind you. Vocational schools are the refuge of many poor but deserving students. In the first place, vocational schools only offer low tuition fee as compared to other private schools. Secondly, vocational school graduates can easily land a job as compared to many other degree courses offered in many colleges and universities.

Here are basic points students should learn to understand why there is money in vocational schools. At least upon learning these important points they can now consider themselves of enrolling in vocational schools. For this reason they can also help their parents. The parents usually are having a hard time budgeting the tuition fees as well as other school expenses when there are already two or more college students in the family plus those in high schools. Really, parent’s hands are bleeding where to get additional finances for the school.

1. Jobs abroad. Since skilled workers are in demand overseas you have good chances of working in foreign territories. The pay is good if you work especially in the US territories as well as in other countries of Europe such as Spain, London, Italy, Norway and Germany. Many people dream to work overseas but they don’t exactly realized taking vocational courses to become highly-skilled professionals. Even if you are a university graduate in engineering if there are no job openings of such job abroad you will still find it very hard for you to land a job.

2. Good pay. Even if you are only a skilled professional but if you work overseas the pay is still good. The good thing here is you can easily work abroad because vocational courses are in demand in many developed countries of the world. Many skilled workers in third countries who have worked overseas have given good living condition to their families. They have build new houses, bought properties and send their children to exclusive schools. Now, who says vocational schools are cheap schools. Students should realize this. Enrolling in degree courses which don’t have good opportunities is only a waste of money.

3. Hiring is fast. Why do vocational graduates would easily land a job in the communities or even abroad? This is because there is fast hiring for vocational graduates. The massive hiring of skilled workers is helping many graduates to earn immediate income right after acquiring their government recognition as skilled professionals. Many students believe that having graduated in degree courses is more dignified than in vocational courses. Well, we all have the right but we should be practical enough in our decision especially in our career choices. What can an engineering career do for you if your family is sacrificing because you are not employed.

THERE are indeed lots of advantages if you’re enrolled in a vocational school. One of the features of a vocational school is job placement immediately after graduation. Most of the courses offered here are highly technical and blue collar in nature. These vocational schools are often called as community colleges because the programs they offer mimic the industry in the particular county or parish that the community college or vocational school is located.

For example, if your county is deeply involved in diamond mining, then there must be a geology program offered in the vocational school there. Geology graduates are expected to be employed as managers in the diamond mines located in your area. Vocational schools tuition is usually low. In the United States, it is even free because it is owned by the state or the county government. Students in the vocational school must first prove that they are indigent though before they can be enrolled. They must also pass the entrance examination with flying colors since only the brightest and the most diligent need to be subsidized their tuition. This is one of the results of the No Child Left behind Act in the United States.

But in other countries such as Spain and the Philippines, vocational schools are often operated privately. Some of these vocational schools offer massage therapy as an example. In massage therapy, you learn various techniques in Swedish and shiatsu massage. That’s the blending of the Eastern and Western massaging techniques. You will also understand how to place a patient modestly. You will also understand a few medical terms as the study of human physiology will be from head to foot and the internal organs therein.

It is not just massage therapy that is being studied in a typical vocational school. There are other diverse courses as reflexology and welding. Once you have graduated from the reflexology program which may last up to six months, the vocational school has already put in place a network of employers. You will then ultimately land a job at a hotel for example that caters largely to foreigners who like to go to a spa and have some relaxing reflexology. But that’s just reflexology. If you’re a graduate in welding, you will ultimately land a job at a shipbuilding company or a firm that makes roiling coils and other raw steel products. There are lots of steel companies around the world – from Germany to Taiwan to South Korea to India. You can choose your employer for even a humble vocational school in Spain prides itself with lots of foreign employer contacts. After all, reputable vocational schools do have their own pride – that of having achieved the most skillful graduates the planet has produced in modern times. That’s not something of rhetoric there. It’s simply the truth.

So wherever you are in the world, there is always a vocational school near you. And take note, it is not just in the developing world such as Africa where these vocational schools are found. Who will build our planes, our carpets, everything that you can see such as mugs, vases and others if these unsung vocational schools and instructors don’t exist? I rest my case.

COMMUNITY colleges are present all over the world but they are particularly noticeable in Canada, the United States and the Philippines. Community colleges are created in areas where there is a focus in the industry and the income and livelihood of the people as well as the economy as a whole in a particular county, municipality or town. For example, if the town is engaged in diamond mining, then a community college there offers programs about geology and anything about mining.

On the other hand, if a particular place has a huge steel-making company, then a community college erected there will have courses offered in the field of metallurgical skills. A community college gets its funds subsidized by the state government and the county government that sponsors it. Most of the students here do not pay any tuition or miscellaneous fees at all. Most of them have been enrolled here after passing the college admissions exams. The college admissions exams here are unlike those taken in regular colleges. Here, the questionnaires are more focused on the technical aspects and skills of the would-be enrollee.

There are general questions as well as questions specific to what the course the person is intended to take. If one is inclined to take up a program in the field of aeronautics, the student will be asked if he or she has prior knowledge in the field such as how to reduce the load of the horizontal stabilizer. On the other hand, if the program is offered is regarding electronics and communications engineering, the person will be asked if he or she knows the latest in robotics and sonar technologies. If the person has chosen to be in the field of nuclear medicine, then he or she will be asked on the person’s know-how in the field of molecular technology. If the person has inclination in the field of surgery, he or she will be asked on how much amount of epinephrine is needed to resuscitate a person.

To be admitted in a community college, you need to prove that you are an indigent person. Sons and daughters of wealthy parents cannot enroll here because community colleges as emphasized earlier are subsidized by the government regarding their budget. Thus, students must pass pertinent papers such as the income tax return of their parents to prove that they really are indigent ones. There are several other programs available in a community college. Whether it’s called a technical or vocational school, they really are the same. These community colleges have one thing in common – they offer only short term courses ranging from six months to three years. When you are enrolled in a community college, you are however privileged upon graduation because these community colleges have established contacts with prospective employers in the area. They will be the ones to recommend your employment in these businesses.

Some of the programs offered in a community college are as diverse as in the field of phlebotomy, anesthesiology assistance, midwifery, medical transcription, reflexology, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, acupressure, cosmetology and bartending. In a field as diverse as this, community colleges have the best facilities available.

Admittedly, after a long period studying for four years in high school, another thing you consider is what to do beyond your college life. Since maybe things will turn to chaos, ask friends who currently enrolled in that institution if it is worthy to enroll a vocational courses there. But maybe your friend’s comments would not convince you much, go for yourself and ask someone about the school’s record and don’t be introverted asking since it is your future who are we talking for.

Engaging vocational courses is truly not a waste of time, it has a similarity being with typical college students but vocational courses end up to six to two year. But the studying process is worth fulfilling you would not regret enrolling the course since it will give you big impact in your own country and to others since most of the courses offered are highly in demand as mentioned earlier. And most of the students who got vocational courses have great possibility of getting a job than those who finish with college degree, since we all know that nowadays there are many degree holder who have been include in the lists of the world of jobless. Though there are a few who have been into a good job, unlike having only vocational courses have great chances of immediately hired for the in demand vacant positions.
